The Original Plarn Bag: Free Knitting Pattern
Original Plarn Bag: Free Knitting Pattern
Materials
- Pre-Cut Plarn: 5-6 skeins
- US Size 10 knitting needles
*I try to use 40 grocery bags per one skein to equal approximately 220 yards. I cut this plarn rather thickly - an inch to an inch and a half wide, and hold it double.
Gauge
10 sts and 20 rows = 4 in. (Garter)
*Exact gauge is not essential.
Measurements
Front 14 x 14 in; bottom 9 x 14 in; back 14 x 14 in. (Knit consecutively, in a strip.)
Sides 14 x 9 in. (Knit two.)
*Alternately, pick up and knit side stitches. Knit to 9 inches. Bind off right side. (This way, you have one less side to stitch together at the end!)
